The Department of Environmental Management has announced that a possession-limit adjustment for the commercial black sea bass fishery has been made by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. The adjustment affects all Atlantic seaboard states.
Under emergency rule, the commission has reduced the daily possession limit from 9,000 pounds to 7,000 pounds per day during the Jan.1-March 31 quarter until the federal quota is harvested. The preliminary coastwide quota allocated for that quarter is 1,248,860 pounds, which will be adjusted for overages sustained during the previous quarter.
