Providence Preservation Society gears up for fall events

PROVIDENCE – In celebration of its 60th year, the Providence Preservation Society is hosting two major events this fall – Palette and Palate: PPS Paint Workshop and Wine Tasting as well as its annual gala – to raise awareness of its cause.

The first, Palette and Palate, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Barker Playhouse on Benefit Street in Providence. Experts will be on hand to discuss exterior house paint colors and guests are welcome to taste four wines chosen and presented by Eric Taylor of Bottles Fine Wine.

Tickets are $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers and can be purchased online.

Known as Powered by Preservation, the PPS’ annual gala will take place this year on Saturday, Nov. 4 at South Street Landing. The black-tie event will be catered by Russell Morin with an open bar. Co-chairs for the gala are Christopher Marsella, Melissa Trapp, James V. DeRentis and Brett Smiley.
