PROVIDENCE – The average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island increased 3 cents to $2.54 per gallon, the same as the national average, according to AAA Northeast Monday.

“Crude oil prices have receded somewhat in recent days but hit a three-year high last week. And those elevated crude prices boosted prices at the pump,” said Lloyd Albert, AAA Northeast senior vice president of public and government affairs, in a statement. “The market is also reacting to concerns over tightening global oil supplies.”
