PROVIDENCE – Cases of COVID-19 in Rhode Island increased by 1,095, with 18 more deaths, the R.I. Department of Health said on Tuesday.
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients in the state total 423, an increase from 412 one day prior. Of those hospitalized, 54 are in intensive care units and 47 are on ventilators.

There have been 86,789 total cases of COVID-19 in the state, an increase of 1,187 from one day prior, accounting for the day-to-day increase as well as data revisions for previous days.
The state has reported a total of 1,760 deaths due to the virus.
There were 11,617 tests processed Monday, with an overall positive rate of 9.4%. When excluding both repeat positive and repeat negative test results, the positive rate was 28.6%.
There have been 1.96 million tests administered in the state to date to 630,872 individuals.
RIDOH also said that there have been 12,869 individuals who have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
