R.I. Medical Society installs new officers

PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Medical Society installed new officers for 2011-2012 at its 200th annual meeting.
Dr. Nitin S. Damle was elected president. Damle is an internal-medicine physician practicing in Wakefield and a founding partner of South County Internal Medicine.
Dr. Alyn L. Adrain, a gastroenterologist practicing in Providence, was tapped as president-elect; Dr. Elaine C. Jones, a neurologist in Bristol, was elected vice president; Dr. Elizabeth Lange, a pediatrician in East Providence, was elected secretary; and Dr. Jerry Fingerut, an internist in Pawtucket, was elected treasurer.
At the annual meeting, Dr. Pablo Rodriguez, CEO of Women’s Care, was given the Herbert H. Rakatansky Award for Professionalism in Medicine, and Dr. Arthur A. Frazzano, program director for the Rhode Island Area Health Education Centers, was awarded the Charles L. Hill Award for contributions to the medical society.
