PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island Builders Association next month will hold a two-day workshop for municipal planning boards and town councilors who want to learn more about where and how economic growth can be spurred in their communities.
The workshop, the Narragansett Bay Research Reserve Coastal Training Program, is being put on in partnership with Grow Smart Rhode Island, Rhode Island Sea Grant and the R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council.
The workshop starts Oct. 1 and speakers, including instructors from the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration Coastal Services Center, will “provide presentations that focus on development trends in the area,” according to RIBA.
Along with developers and builders, the hands-on workshops would benefit from a diverse group of participants, including conservation commissioners, engineers, architects, landscape architects and others, RIBA said in calling for attendees.
The Rhode Island Builders Association, with more than 1,400 member companies across the state, is one of the nation’s largest local trade associations serving the residential construction industry. It is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders. For additional information, visit www.ribuilders.org.
