PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Department of Transportation announced that Interstate 95 North will be closed in Exeter from 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 through Monday, Oct. 16.
RIDOT is replacing the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, which is composed of two 50-year-old structures. This is the final stage of construction that began in summer 2016. The time frame for the road work is currently subject to change.

During the closure, northbound traffic will be rerouted at Exit 4 to Route 3 North. Trucks will re-enter I-95 using the Exit 5/Route 102 interchange in West Greenwich. Passenger vehicles will continue to Route 3 and use the Exit 6 interchange in West Greenwich.
RIDOT said drivers should expect delays.
The shifted traffic pattern will also require the closure of access from Route 3 South to I-95 North at the Exit 6 interchange. Drivers will be rerouted to Division Street to Hopkins Hill Road to access the highway. The release also noted that drivers seeking to access I-95 North from Coventry should seek alternate routes at Exit 6A or Exit 7.
