PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island School of Design’s executive vice president of finance and administration is leaving for a similar job in Oregon.
RISD has announced that W. Arnold Yasinski has accepted a post as vice president for financial affairs and treasurer at Willamette University, effective Aug. 1.
Since 2005, Yasinski has overseen financial affairs, human resources, facilities, information technology, legal affairs, campus and workplace safety, public safety, dining and retail outlets, and rental properties.
“In the short year that Arnie and I have worked together, we have gotten to know each other quite well, and I have great respect for his ability to truly integrate financial management and strategic thinking,” said RISD President John Maeda. “He has used both to help guide RISD through this year of transition and into the future, and we wish him all the best.”
Yasinski will remain at RISD until this summer, when he will relocate with his wife to Salem, Ore. Kelly Morra, RISD controller, will step in as interim vice president for finance and administration when Yasinski leaves. The school said a search for a successor will begin immediately.
