
The Randolph Savings Peter T. Pastore Jr. Charitable Foundation awarded grants to seven organizations during November 2009. The grants, totaling $16,000, were given to organizations within the Rhode Island communities served by Randolph Savings.
The Special Olympics Rhode Island, whose mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities, was among the recipients. The Special Olympics will receive $3,000 per year for the next five years to help fund the construction of their new headquarters and training facility in Smithfield.
CABINS (Community Against Bullying in Schools), Caritas Rhode Island, House of Hope Development Corp., and the Rhode Island Parent Information Network also received grants. In addition, two Massachusetts-based organizations – the Randolph Community Partnership and Stoughton Youth Resources – were awarded grants.
The charitable foundation was created in memory of Peter T. Pastore Jr. to support philanthropic work in local areas. •
