NORTH KINGSTOWN – Earlier this month Ocean State Job Lot – in partnership with the R.I. Public Transit Authority and iHeartRadio – announced it had collected more than 8,000 pounds of nonperishable food at its seventh annual Stuff-a-Bus food drive.

While customers at all 16 Rhode Island Job Lot locations could donate at in-store receptacles, RIPTA buses were present at the Coventry, North Kingstown and Woonsocket stores.

Organizations set to benefit from the drive include the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, We Share Hope and Operation Stand Down Rhode Island.

“We are always thrilled to bring together partners [such as] RIPTA and iHeart for this great cause,” said David Sarlitto, Ocean State Job Lot executive director. “We are especially thankful this year for the team at We Share Hope, who generously offered to store the food donations for Operation Stand Down, allowing the veterans that we are passionate about serving access to the food as they need it throughout the year.”
