Textron receives $150M jet order from Singapore

PROVIDENCE – Textron Inc.’s Cessna unit, the world’s biggest maker of business jets, won a $150 million order from Singapore’s BJets for 20 aircraft, Bloomberg News reported last week.
Cessna will sell Citation CJ2 aircraft to BJets, according to a statement given out at a news briefing at the Singapore Airshow last week. BJets, based in Singapore and Mumbai, is partnering with India’s Tata Group in a venture to provide business jet services between Southeast Asia and India.
More than 60 percent of the 570 Cessna business jet orders expected this year are projected to come from international customers, up from just over 50 percent last year, said Textron Chief Financial Officer Lewis Campbell.
