The Dunkin’ Donuts Center has not hosted the NCAA tournament since 1996, when it was still the Providence Civic Center and prior to the $80 million renovation of the facility completed in 2008. The arena is owned and operated by the R.I. Convention Center Authority, a quasi-public agency.

The University of Rhode Island did not make the NCAA tournament. Instead, the Rams will play Northwestern University in the National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday night at the Ryan Center.
