NORTH KINGSTOWN – The 2019 Open House Air Show has been canceled by the Rhode Island National Guard, WJAR-TV NBC 10 reported Thursday.
The National Guard said it was due to hundreds of upcoming deployments – the first time the event has been canceled for that reason since the air show’s inception in 1991.

Tens of thousands of people attend the show each year, which benefits Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
