PROVIDENCE – Ximedica LLC, an Item Group company specializing in the contract design, development and manufacture of new medical devices, has recruited two new members to its senior development team.
* Gil DePaula, who as principal software engineer will lead Ximedica’s software development and manage issue-tracking systems for client 510k and FDA applications. He has more than 20 years experience in embedded software/hardware development, most recently with Insulet Corp., developing software for an insulin pump. De Paula has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology and a master’s in electrical engineering from Western Michigan University.
* Liam O’Shea, who as senior program manager will follow Ximedica programs from research through design and engineering to manufacturing. He most recently worked at Palomar Medical Technology. A native of Ireland, he has a BSME from Dublin University and is working on a master’s in engineering management from Tufts University.
