PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island Hospital has reached a tentative agreement with United Nurses and Allied Professionals Local 5098, Lifespan announced Friday evening.
The deal, which will have to be certified by union members, includes provisions to support staffing, wage increases and a benefits package for UNAP’s 2,400 nurses and allied health professionals at Rhode Island Hospital.

The hospital said that UNAP’s bargaining committee unanimously supported the deal, which the union will vote on Wednesday.
Details of the deal were not immediately available.
The tentative agreement is another step in a public battle between the two sides after the union’s contact expired June 30. Previously, a tentative deal had been voted down by members, who voted for a four-day strike. Both sides had also filed unfair labor practice complaints against one another during negotiations.
