Jennifer Shimkus has been promoted to executive director of Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), where she has been co-director since 2005.
She was previously grants manager for the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities in Boston and assistant director of development for the Salvation Army in Phoenix.
