The Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (RISBDC) and the City of Providence have joined forces to offer an accredited, five-day educational program for small and emerging contractors.
Participants will learn the core business skills necessary to compete and grow in the industry from local and national trade experts. The five daylong sessions include seminars in marketing, estimating and bidding, record keeping and contemporary use of business technologies, among others. Additional forums will discuss state regulatory and licensing review, insurance risk management, and workforce recruitment strategies. City officials will offer forums on municipal bidding processes and Providence’s MBE program.
