I-195 overnight closures, detours begin tonight

Overnight work on the Interstate-195 eastbound Taunton Avenue ramp at exit 4 will begin Tuesday night, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced on Monday.

Weather permitting, steel girders will be erected to the east of the exit, marking what will be the new alignment for the exit ramp, part of the ongoing I-195 relocation project. Lane closures, ramp closures and intermittent temporary closures of I-195 eastbound will be necessary to complete the girder work, RIDOT said.
