Lawrence Kunkel was named executive vice president of corporate development for Bess Eaton Coffee and Bake Shop where he will manage strategic planning and direct organizational growth initiatives. He is a member of the board of directors and a former consultant to the chain. Kunkel was a research assistant to 1982 Nobel Prize Laureate George J. Stigler. He previously worked for Central R.I. Economic Development Corp. Kunkel received a master’s degree from the University of Chicago. He is a resident of Warwick.
