Barbara J. Farrand of East Providence has been named human resources manager for The Providence Journal Company. Her duties include support and counsel to the newspaper’s managers, supervisors and employees in employee relations, policy implementation and recruitment. She will continue to oversee administration functions and benefits. Farrand attended Rhode Island College.
