The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority announced that it will be opening the Intermodal Transportation Center at Kennedy Plaza on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The Intermodal Transportation Center, the state’s first, will include RIPTA, Bonanza, and Greyhound, as well as information and schedules for bus, rail, water, state bike paths, and air transportation.

RIPTA will host a public celebration to mark the pre-opening of the terminal on Monday, Aug. 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Senator Jack Reed and Congressmen Patrick Kennedy and James Langevin will join the celebration, which includes a speaking program, ribbon cutting ceremony, tour of the facility, entertainment and refreshments.
