Cotham receives national award

The Rhode Island Small Business Development Center (RISBDC) at Bryant College announced that Donald Cotham, program manager for the RISBDC Downtown Providence, is the recipient of the “Star Performer” award by the National Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC).

Each year ASBDC recognizes an outstanding SBDC employee demonstrating commendable performance. They were judged, in many cases by their peers, to be exemplary performers, making significant contributions to their state’s SBDC program and its clients, and showing commitment to small business.

Cotham was nominated by Robert Hamlin, RISBDC state director. Hamlin noted that Cotham “has established strong linkages between the RISBDC and the business community of Rhode Island.” Hamlin said Cotham is highly regarded by the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, where his office is located, and by many other business partners in the greater Providence area, including The Center for Design and Business, the Center for Women & Enterprise, and the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers Association.

“Cotham is always willing to assist clients at various business cycles to grow their business to the next level,” Hamlin said. “Client evaluations indicate a high-level of client service satisfaction with the Providence SBDC office. They felt that the office has provided them with invaluable counseling and customer service.”
