ATLANTA — Though it said revenues rose during the second quarter, cable television company Cox Communications Inc. saw its quarterly income drop 66 percent, to $30.67 million, compared to $91.23 million a year ago.
The company earned 5 cents per share during the most recently completed quarter, compared to 15 cents a year earlier.

The company’s subscriber base also fell compared to year-ago levels. Basic customers totaled some 6.14 million, compared to 6.17 million during the same period last year.
Revenues increased to $1 billion, compared to $878.9 million during the year-ago period.
