PROVIDENCE — The IceFire Winter Carnival has been invited back after a successful debut this year, the city’s Tourism Council announced. The three-day festival is scheduled for February 9 -11, 2002. The council estimated that the festival attracted more than 30,000 visitors to the city, 40 percent of them from out of state, and produced an economic impact of $1.25 million.
