PROVIDENCE — Head Start grants of more than $1.5 million were awarded two Rhode Island agencies, according to U.S. Sen. Jack, Reed, D-R.I. Reed said that the Comprehensive Community Action Program in Cranston was awarded $896,624 and Self Help, Inc. in Riverside received $626,468 to continue child development programs. Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve children from birth to five, pregnant women and their families.
