Digital Broadband will cut more than 500 jobs

Digital Broadband Communications, a Waltham-based company that provides local and wide area network services to small and mid-size businesses using Cisco Systems’ hardware is expected to lay off more than 500 of its employees. According to Boston.com the company, founded in 1996, is laying off workers as part of a restructuring plan. In February, the company won a $9 million contract designed to bring broadband Internet access to every far-flung school system, town hall, police and fire stations in Massachusetts.
