Layoffs at Paramount

Pawtucket-based greeting card maker Paramount Cards announced that it has laid off 51 employees, almost 12 percent of its total staff, because of two lost accounts.

The company laid off 48-full time and 3 part-time workers on October 25, leaving the company with 429 employees.

The company, which makes greeting cards of all types, doesn’t expect any further layoffs and hopes to bring back a number of the laid-off workers when its new accounts grow.
