Gregg Perry has been appointed senior account executive at RDW Group. He is responsible for servicing a number of RDW accounts in fields of financial services, technology and the environment. Before coming to RDW he was communications director for the U.S. Congressman Robert A. Weygand and public information officer for the Rhode Island Department of the Attorney General. Prior to that Perry worked as a news anchor and reporter for WHJJ-AM, WHJY-FM and WPRO AM/FM in Providence.

Sean Watterson
Sean Watterson, an employee of Fleming & Roskelly, Inc., in Newport, has received the Rhode Island Centennial Scholarship towards his September 2000 attendance at the University of Rhode Island. Watterson, a Newport resident, achieved this scholarship by earning an SAT mark of 1330 and maintaining a GPA of 3.1. He has worked at Fleming & Roskelly in Web page design, catalog design and image editing. He has participated in Junior Engineering and Technical Society and Vocational Industrial Club of America. He began working with F&R after completing an internship program with the company.

Stephen H. Gentile
Stephen H. Gentile has been named associate in the twelve-person architectural firm of Lerner/Ladd + Bartels, Inc. A native of East Greenwich, he has been with the firm since 1998, and became a registered architect in Rhode Island a year later. Gentile received a bachelor of fine arts and a bachelor of architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. He has worked for Robinson Green Berretta, Todd Lee/Clark/Rozas and Blount Bennet Architects. He is a member of the RISD Alumni Association and an associate member of the Boston Society of Architects. In addition he is a licensed Rhode Island real estate sales agent with Caldwell Banker Gold and a member of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors/National Association of Realtors.
BANKING
Cynthia L. Thorpe
Cynthia L. Thorpe has been appointed assistant vice president of Bank of Newport. She is currently the bank’s Tiverton branch manager and loan officer. She served as operations manager of the Middletown branch from 1996 to 1998. A Warren resident, she is a graduate of Bristol Community College in Fall River. She also attended the University of Oklahoma Consumer Credit School and Fair-field University Management Development School. Thorpe has also served as a consumer loan specialist for Bank of Newport.
June D. Goguen has joined First Federal Savings Bank of America as an officer in the business banking division. She will be developing new business and servicing customers at FIRSTFED’s downtown New Bedford office. Prior to joining the Bank, she was employed as project manager for the Department of Economic Development’s Massachusetts Office of Business Development. Goguen currently serves as chair for the Fall River Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Women’s Forum. She is also on the advisory Board of the UMass/Dartmouth Marketing and Information Systems Curriculum Development and Small Business Development Center. Goguen earned both he bachelors’ in management and master’s in business administration degrees from UMass/Dartmouth.

David Gingerella
David A. Gingerella has been appointed dean of Metropolitan College at Roger Williams University. His office will be located in the Metro Center on Washington Street in Providence. He has been with Roger Williams since 1991 and his new responsibilities will include serving as chief administrator of the University’s programs to provide educational opportunities for students enrolled in courses, certificate and degree programs through Metropolitan College. Dean Gingerella’s most recent position prior to this promotion was dean of student finance and records. In 1995 he was named “outstanding teacher” by the University College for classes taught in business ethics and financial and strategic management. He has a bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University and a master’s in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

John J. Coelho, P.E.
John J. Coelho, P.E. has joined the engineering staff of Primary Flow Signal, Inc.. A registered Professional Engineer in Rhode Island, Coelho’s qualifications include experience with wastewater facilities design and construction in New England and the Midwest, with special areas of expertise including earthquake engineering. Coelho will serve as senior design engineer, based at the company’s Warwick headquarters.

Brian Pontarelli, DPM
Brian Pontarelli, DPM has been appointed to the staff of physicians in the department of surgery and podiatry at Memorial Hospital. Dr. Pontarelli, a resident of North Providence received his medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, and his undergraduate degree from Providence College. He served a residency at Memorial from 1997 to 1999. He has joined the staff of Rhode Island Foot Care, Inc. in East Providence.

John J. Goodman
John J. Goodman has joined Trainor Associates as vice president of public relations. A resident of Char-lestown, and graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Goodman has spent the last nine years working for United States Senator John H. Chafee, most recently as the Senator’s spokesman and director of communications. He continued in that capacity for newly appointed Senator Lincoln Chafee until accepting the position with Trainor. In addition to his experience in public and media relations, he also served as grants and federal projects coordinator during his tenure with Chafee.
RESEARCH
Dr. Bing-Lin Lee
Dr. Bing-Lin Lee has joined the research and development group of Teknor Apex Company as senior research associate. He will be responsible for the development of specialty PVC and TPE compounds to support the various markets of the plastics group at Teknor Apex. Dr. Lee comes to the company after 25 years of experience with BF Goodrich Company in Ohio. He is a native of Taiwan, with a master of science degree in chemical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He also has a doctorate in chemical engineering with a specialization in polymer engineering and science from the University of Tennessee.
TECHNOLOGY
Chad Verdi
East Greenwich resident Chad Verdi has been elected chairman of EUROTECH Ltd., based in Washington, D.C. Formerly president and chief executive officer of Coastal Food Service and Provisions, Inc., and the Coastal Food Service Companies in Cranston, he merged the companies with Cara Donna Food Services of Boston in January to devote more time to EUROTECH. The company is a provider of technology for the Chernobyl Shelter Project in the Ukraine. He has been a director with EUROTECH since 1999.
Paul E. Everton has recently joined GT Funding Corporation as senior residential loan officer. In this new position Everton will focus on FHA, conforming and non-conforming mortgages for purchases and refinancing. He is a resident of Riverside.
