Tammy J. Duxbury, a manager in the tax department of the Providence accounting firm of Piccerelli, Gilstein & Company, LLP, has been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accounting. With the firm since 1988, Duxbury already has the CPA and MST designations. The PFS designation, established in 1987 recognizes CPAs able to demonstrate considerable professional experience in financial planning.

Beth Ann Traina
Beth Ann Traina has been named art director of North Kingstown-based advertising and public relations agency Cote & D’Ambrosio. Formerly serving as graphic designer for the TECO Group in New York, Traina now provides art direction for all collateral projects, and print advertisements. In addition to being the art director, she is also a Web master, assisting clients with website and e-commerce needs. Traina graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in communications and a concentration in graphic design, along with a minor in visual arts.
Arnold Robinson
ARCHITECTURE
Arnold Robinson, former executive director of the Providence Preservation Society, has joined the Newport Collaborative Architects, Inc. He will be director of planning and community relations, responsible for historic preservation, community planning and new business development. Robinson earned his master’s degree from the preservation studies program at Boston University and his bachelor’s degree in American studies, with a focus on 19th century American architecture, from Bates College. He lives in Bristol with his wife and two sons.

Ruth K. Mullen
Ruth K. Mullen was named president and CEO of New England Trust Company. With the company since 1981, Mullen has been promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president to chief operating officer and to partner in 1990. She is a graduate of Vassar College. Mullen holds a master’s degree from the New School for Social Research in New York. She is and honors graduate of the National Graduate Trust School, and earned her CFC designation in 1985. A Providence resident, she is a member of the board of trustees of the Providence Public Library and the Providence Children’s Museum.

Dr. Deborah Cahn-Weiner
Deborah Cahn-Weiner, PhD., has been appointed to the medical staff of Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island as a neurologist in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. A resident of Pawtucket, Dr. Cahn-Weiner received her doctorate in clinical psychology from San Diego State University, after completing her pre-doctoral internship at Brown University. She has also completed post-doctoral fellowships in neurology at Stanford and Brown University Schools of Medicine. Prior to joining Memorial, Dr. Cahn-Weiner was a staff neurologist at Butler Hospital and is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior, with a specialty in geriatrics and neuropsychology, in the department of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University School of Medicine. She was also recently awarded a pilot grant by the Alzheimer’s Association on the study of combined pharmacological and behavioral intervention to improve memory in Alzheimer’s patients.

Joseph DeAngelis, former speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, has been named managing partner of the Providence office of Tillinghast Licht Perkins Smith & Cohen. Richard Licht, former lieutenant governor of Rhode Island, stepped down as managing partner of the firm to concentrate on his campaign for the United States Senate. DeAngelis, who will continue to practice law while serving as managing partner, is a partner in the firm’s real estate, government relations and litigation groups. In addition to his more than a quarter century as a practicing attorney, he served for eighteen years in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He was Speaker of the House from 1988 through 1992.
John J. Partridge
John J. Partridge, a partner of Partridge, Snow & Hahn, has been named a member of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel, Inc. A nationwide association of attorneys specializing in the arena of insurance regulatory law, an attorney must be recommended by insurance industry executives from unrelated companies, in order to become a member of the Counsel. Partridge manages PS&H’s insurance and health practice areas.

Jaymin Patel
Jaymin Patel has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of GTECH. Joining the company in 1994, as finance director of GTECH’s European and UK Operations, he was most recently vice president of financial planning and business evaluation. Patel holds a bachelor’s degree from the City of Birmingham (UK) University, and qualified as Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse. Jaymin and his wife, Kinnari, live in North Kingstown with their two children.

Jodi A. Johnson has been named promotion specialist in the promotion department of the Providence Journal Company. She will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing all aspects of promotional projects and tactics supporting the newspaper’s advertising and circulation strategies and initiatives. Johnson comes to the Journal from radio stations WSKO-AM and WPRO-AM/FM, where she served as promotion director and event coordinator. Prior to that she worked as a promotion coordinator for Cox Communications and CableRep Advertising. Johnson is a graduate of Rhode Island College.

Mary F. McGloughlin
Mary F. McLoughlin has joined executive recruiting firm The Loflin Group, Inc. as a specialist in sales and marketing. McLoughlin, a Middletown resident, was formerly an account manager with Interim Services.
