Suzanne Worrell Gemma
Suzanne Worrell Gemma has been named a vice president of GPC O’Neill & Associates. Worrell Gemma is managing the Rhode Island office and overseeing client servicing. She is also providing counseling in the areas of communications and government relations to new and existing clients in the real estate, health care and high technology industries. She was previously employed by the law firm of Peabody & Brown where she practiced real estate law and developed government affairs strategies for clients. She has also served as assistant legal counsel to the Governor of Rhode Island. Worrell Gemma is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She received her juris doctorate from Boston College School of Law. She also completed the Leadership Rhode Island program.

Michael T. Maynard
Michael T. Maynard has joined Quincy, Mass.-based Graham Communications as its public relations manager. Maynard, A Cranston resident, is a contributing writer for Art New England. He is a graduate of George Washington University, with a master’s degree in community planning from the University of Rhode Island.
Andy David
CONSULTING
Andy David has been appointed operations consultant for the management consulting services group at San-siveri, Kimball & McNamee, L.L.P. Previously David was a telecommunications consultant with AT&T Solutions Consulting. A Bristol resident, he has also held financial engineering positions with Staples, Ford Motor Company and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. He has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Brown University and a master’s of business administration from Carnegie Mellon.

Philip J. Sisson
Philip J. Sisson has been appointed assistant dean of academic affairs at the Community College of Rhode Island. He will be responsibile for the administration of the academic programs at the college’s Providence campus and all off-campus satellites including telecourses. He was most recently the director of student support services and evening administrator at Bristol Community College, where he was responsible for developing and administering various enrollment management and academic support services to the continuing education students at the college. Sisson, a Rhode Island College graduate, is a Providence resident, and a doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts.
Jeffrey A. Aronofsky
HEALTH CARE
Jeffrey A. Aronofsky has been named to lead The Miriam Hospital Foundation’s philanthropical projects. As president of the MHF, he will manage and direct the annual campaign on behalf of the hospital’s fundraising efforts. Formerly a loan officer with Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, he succeeds Myles Weisberg in the position. He is a Newport resident and has degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Oxford University.
Denise Mack Fraser
Denise Mack Fraser, MD, FACS, has been named director of the Roger Williams Medical Center Breast Health Center, a component of the Roger Williams Cancer Center. Dr. Fraser is a general surgeon specializing in diseases of the breast, including breast cancer, fibrocystic condition, developmental issues, infections and postpartum problems. She received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, New York, and residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Prior to joining RW, she had been practicing in the Washington, D.C. area since 1990.
David C. Shinney
HOSPITALITY
David C. Shinney has been appointed director of food and beverage for The Westin Providence as well as a member of the hotel’s executive committee. Shinney will oversee the food and beverage operation for the hotel. The hotel’s food and beverage outlets include the AGORA restaurant, International Yacht & Athletic Club, the Café’, the Library Bar & Lounge, banquets and room service. A Providence resident, Shinney is formerly the director of restaurants and director of hotel food and beverage at Sunday River in Bethel, Maine, the flagship resort of the American Skiing Company. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Boston College, and has attended the Johnson & Wales Culinary Skills Development Program. Shinney is a founder and trustee of the Anthony Spinazzola Foundation, a director of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Wine and Food, Boston chapter.

Richard J. Murray
Richard J. Murray was recently appointed senior sales director of personnel in the Providence Journal Com-pany’s advertising division. A North Kingstown resident, he will be responsible for the personnel development within the newspaper’s advertising division. Murray previously held the positions of sales director, automotive advertising sales development manager, local retail sales manager and automotive sales manager. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bryant College. He is the past president of the Rhode Island Advertising Club, now the Advertising Club of Southeastern New England.
Frederic R. Siegel
Frederic R. Siegel has been promoted to sales marketing director for ABC6/WLNE-TV. Previously a senior account executive, he will now oversee sales research and develop and orchestrate community outreach campaigns and sales promotions. He will also be responsible for many of the station’s larger regional and local accounts. A graduate of the State University of New York/Brockport, Siegel has been with Vitt Media, McDonalds (as media supervisor) and ProMedia. He is currently vice president of the board of trustees for Congregation Sha A’ Ray Shalom and has served on the board of directors for the Inns of Waterville Valley for the last twelve years.

Stan N. Valencia
Stan N. Valencia has been named vice president of operations for Qualified Resources Inc. of Cranston and Pawtucket. An East Providence resident, he will provide direction in the on-site and ancillary staffing of the businesses with which QR now contracts. Valencia will also offer quality control assistance to new and existing-contracted companies, finding cost-savings and value-added programs for clients, and expand professional and technology development for customers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology, in Manila, The Philippines. He is a member of such trade organizations as the American Society for Quality Control, International Management Council, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Society of Plastics Engineers.
