(Newport, R.I.)– Friday June 29th from 5- 8pm the Bellevue Avenue section of the Newport, Rhode Island will be transformed for Style Night Newport, a celebration of fashion, design and commerce . “StyleWeek Northeast has partnering with Child & Family to create Style Night Newport, the evening before the summer benefit “Au Courant” a runway show and cocktail party on June 30th.” stated Rosanna Ortiz Sinel, President and Founder of StyleWeek Providence.
Style Night Newport, models itself after the highly successful Fashion’s Night Out as popularized in New York City during their week of fashion. According to Keith D. Tavares Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Child & Family, ”Like the event in Manhattan, Style Night Newport is dedicated to a single evening community based “scavenger hunt” to help promote businesses in Newport. Participating stores will be on the “scavenger list” of venues to shop at.“

The scavenger hunt is free and open to the public. It will begin at the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s “The Tennis Store”, and will end at the Hotel Viking where participants will be invited to enjoy refreshments. All participating shoppers dropping off a ballot form will have the opportunity to win tickets to StyleWeek Northeast taking place in August. “The interactive experience of Style Night Newport will create excitement and participation throughout the Bellevue Avenue area.” Tavares added.
“Collaboration with local boutiques, restaurants and businesses is essential to this synergy between commerce and fashion,” Amy Louden, President, Bellevue Avenue Business Association
Tavares said. “Most of the participating businesses will be providing refreshments, offering some type of discount, special sale or contributing a portion of their sales to a charity of choice.”
“To enhance the customer experience StyleWeek fashion and accessory designers will be partnered together with participating businesses. Featured designers, most of whom will be showing their latest designs at the “Au Courant” Runway Show to benefit Child & Family the following night, “Ortiz Sinel said.
