Alliance BV joins statewide CU Connection

PAWTUCKET – Alliance Blackstone Valley Federal Credit Union has joined a statewide network of credit unions, called the CU Connection.
Its new membership will give Alliance members no-fee access to automatic teller machines (ATMs) at nearly 70 locations.
Fees for Alliance customers using teller machines at other institutions previously ranged from 65 cents to $2.50 per transaction, Allliance said.
By joining the CU Connection, a network of 13 other credit unions, Alliance and the other institutions agree to waive fees for customers of other member institutions. The 2,867-member credit union said it made the decision to give members a bit of financial relief in challenging times.
“Our members tell us that fee-free access to ATMs is one of the most important benefits a credit union can offer, especially in times when every penny counts,” said Joe Cicione, Alliance president and CEO. “By joining in this partnership, we were able to waive the fee that Alliance charged when our ATM cards were used at other institutions, and our partner institutions were willing to waive the fee they charged to use their ATMs, resulting in true fee-free ATM service. We know Americans are feeling the pinch in their wallet, and we know that every bit helps.”
