PROVIDENCE, R.I. (June 8, 2010) – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) today announced that it has received three Communicator Awards from the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) for Choices magazine, BCBSRI’s quarterly member publication dedicated to promoting health and wellness.

BCBSRI was honored with two Gold Communicator Awards of Excellence, one in the Association category and another for overall design of Choices. This is the highest honor of the awards competition given only to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the best in the field. Additionally, BCBSRI received a Silver Communicator Award of Distinction for exceeding industry standards in quality and achievement in copywriting.

“We are thrilled to be recognized once again for the health educational material we develop for our members,” said Michele B. The Communicator Awards are sanctioned and judged by the IAVA, an invitation-only group consisting of professionals from media, communications, advertising, creative, and marketing firms. More than 7,000 entries were submitted for the 2010 Communicator Awards, making it one of the largest award competitions of its kind in the world.
