WALTHAM — Brandeis University announced that it would create a liberal arts curriculum
leading to a degree in Internet Studies, the first college in the country, it
is asserted, to offer such a degree. The degree approved by the Brandeis faculty
involves classes in computer science, law, economics and other disciplines into
an education about life in Web-land. Among new courses being offered for the program
are Virtual Opera, Visual Culture and Law and Society in Cyberspace, the Boston
Globe reported.
