Builders, unions to help assess wage level

BOSTON — The U.S. Labor Department’s Wages and Hours Division is seeking the
assistance of contractors, union officials and other interested parties in Rhode
Island to help determine the prevailing wages for federally funded and federally
assisted highway, residential housing, commercial building and heavy construction
projects in the state. The information, which covers the period from Dec. 1, 1999
to Nov. 30, 2000, will be sought between now and August 15, the Labor Department
announced.
