Smithfield, RI – United Way of Rhode Island (UWRI) will receive a portion of the proceeds from a two-day open house/food drive event put on by the promotional products/specialty advertising company Cool Air Creations Inc., based in Smithfield.

The open houses, the first ever for Cool Air Creations, are being held on Oct. 15 & 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cool Air Creations’ headquarters, 10 Business Park Drive, Smithfield. Both events are open to the public.
Anybody attending the open houses will automatically receive a raffle ticket. An additional raffle ticket will be given out for each non-perishable food item brought to the event as well as one ticket per $50 worth of purchases. (All food items will be donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.)
The raffle items were donated by the vendors who supply the duffels, jackets, clothing items, pens, and various promotional items that Cool Air Creations’ staff members turn into marketing and advertising products for companies as well as many existing clients of Cool Air.
“When my staff and I talked about these open houses, we all decided it was important to give back to the community,” said David Campbell, president of Cool Air Creations, Inc. “We chose United Way because of my family’s personal connection to the work of UWRI. With Thanksgiving around the corner, we also thought it would be timely to help out the Food Bank.”
Campbell started Cool Air Creations in his parents’ garage in 1994. He was air-brushing t-shirts and selling them to friends and family. Then, small businesses started ordering them.
