Creative Circle Advertising Solutions, Inc. of East Providence has announced teaming agreement with Advanced Technical Solutions, Inc. (ATS), of Acton, Mass., to provide expanded services to newspaper industry.
The two firms, both providers of software to newspapers, will merge their products into an integrated version that provides new and better functionality at a reduced cost. Creative Circle provides primarily web software optimized for design and user experience on the web while ATS is a mainframe computer provider, which supplies print-oriented production systems to handle printing output, accounting and other back-end functions.

“Production and print oriented mainframe computer makers have had difficulty producing the best web software because it isn’t their specialty,” said Bill Ostendorf, CEO of Creative Circle. “But integrating third-party web software to mainframe systems often isn’t ideal either. As far as we know, this is the first time specialists on both sides have agreed to fully integrate and take the best of their systems to create a new and better whole.”
