Daniele purchased by Chicago PE firm

CHICAGO – Entrepreneurial Equity Partners has purchased Daniele International, the Burrillville-based maker of charcuterie known for its prosciutto. The company was founded in 1945 by Croatian refugees Carolina and Stefano Dukcevich in Italy who moved the company to Pascoag village in 1977.

Daniele products, which besides its award-winning Del Duca Prosciutto include sopressata, salame and capocollo, among other cured meats, are sold across the nation and locally at Dave’s Marketplace.

The company, which finished a $60 million expansion of its facilites in Burrillville in 2015, was recognized by the Good Food Awards in 2014 and 2015 for its line of charcuterie.

Entrepreneurial Equity Partners did not release terms of the deal, but company CEO Vlado Dukcevich said that e2p was partnering with Daniele as it looks to grow its markets.

“We selected e2p as our partner for the company’s next stage because of their blend of hands-on operational experience and demonstrated ability to create value in food companies for all stakeholders,” said Dukcevich in prepared remarks. “I know our amazing team of dedicated employees is excited to pursue even more opportunities to thrive with this important partnership.”

Managing partner of e2p CJ Fraleigh said that “We are excited to leverage our experience and networks in the food industry to help Daniele continue to identify and capture growth opportunities.”

The release detailing the deal said that Daniele employs roughly 600 people at its facilities.

Daniele declined to comment on the deal.
