Falvey Cargo Underwriting among insurance industry’s ‘best places’

NORTH KINGSTOWN – Falvey Cargo Underwriting Ltd., a Rhode Island-based underwriter for Lloyds of London, has been chosen as one of the 2010 best places to work in the insurance industry.
Falvey Cargo was one of 54 companies nationwide selected for the honor by trade publication Business Insurance through an in-depth assessment of workplace benefits, policies and practices, among other things.
The companies were honored at a luncheon at the Yale Club in New York City on Sept. 23 and ranked in the Oct. 4 issue of Business Insurance.
Falvey Cargo was the only New England insurance firm to garner the Business Insurance recognition, which was supervised by the Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence research firm that manages 35 other regional and industry initiatives in the United States and Canada, including the Providence Business News Best Places To Work in Rhode Island program.
In fact, the company, which has 37 employees, was a winner of PBN Best Places to Work honors in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Falvey Cargo is based in North Kingstown and has offices in San Francisco, North Carolina, Arizona and New Jersey. The company insures high-tech and life sciences cargo.
