Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island welcomes one and all to its annual Farmfest on Sunday, October 6 from noon to 4:00 pm. The free festival is on the grounds of the historic farm at 250 Metacom Avenue. Families attending will be welcome to participate in a variety of fun, historic and educational activities. Admission is FREE and all are welcome.
Visitors can take a guided tour of the historic 1745 Governor Bradford House, the 1800s Barn, and other landmarks on the 127 acre farm. The 2nd Rhode Island Regiment will provide live re-enactments of Continental Army life on the grounds. The Bristol Train of Artillery will have an encampment on the grounds.

Younger visitors can participate in educational scavenger hunts on the ground, visit with the Farm’s goats and chickens, and then grab a ride the hay wagon to the Cove Cabin. All guests are also encouraged to visit booths of RI non-profits including Save the Bay; 4H of Bristol and more. The afternoon will also feature a heaping helping of toe tapping live music with the Bay Spring Folk and Bluegrass Invitational Bands.
“Our Board and staff look forward to Farmfest each year,” said Executive Director Jennifer Bristol. “It’s fun to be a part of people experiencing this amazing place, some of them for the first time. This well-loved annual event exemplifies our goal to make the Farm accessible to people of all ages and provide activities and programs that teach and inspire.”
Bring a picnic or try a taste of offerings from local food trucks and vendors onsite. All welcome.
