DOCTORS SEND PATIENTS for bloodwork and other tests to better diagnose people’s health and prescribe ways to improve.

When it came to teaching Ocean State Job Lot employees to be better health care consumers, it made sense for the North Kingstown-based employer to do the same. The company tapped Providence-based BetaXAnalytics to process real-time information to identify and target health care needs and interest throughout the nine-state retail chain.

The move gave the self-insured company flexibility to pivot to meet employees’ changing needs – and simultaneously save 20% in overall health care costs.
