More than 100 people gathered to celebrate the opening of The Kent Center’s new building, at 2756 Post Road in Warwick. The two-story, 30,000-square-foot building will house administrative and fiscal offices of the mental health and substance abuse center, as well Kent’s youth and family services and community support programs.
The Center will lease the building, but has launched The Campaign for The Kent Center to raise the capital needed to ultimately buy it.
Michael Integlia & Co., the building’s developer, completed construction in June, and The Kent Center moved into its new home in July. The center said in a news release that the new building will provide a solid base of operations to centrally administer the treatment programs, which are located throughout Kent County. The new building is also more accessible for clients than the Center’s previous location in the Warwick Executive Park with better public transportation options, the release said.
