KLR honored by Practical Accountant

NEW YORK – Providence-based Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd. is one of 32 firms nationwide honored this month by Practical Accountant magazine with its 2008 Practice Innovation Awards.
The awards program, now in its ninth year, honors public accounting firms that “take the lead in developing a new service area, improving services to their clients, or promoting efficiency in the practice of public accounting,” the magazine said in a statement last night.
KLR – also ranked among the 2008 Best Places to Work in Rhode Island, by Providence Business News and the Best Companies Group, for the third year in a row – was selected for client education, the magazine said, citing the firm’s “specialized seminars for nonprofits.”
Other firms honored this year by Practical Accountant were chosen for innovations that include speedy response to marketing opportunities; strengthening staff’s community involvement; use of virtual servers and other new technology; printing and scanning improvements; establishing a revenue-enhancement committee; and creating a “Photo Audit” online game to help recruit prospects.
“Practical Accountant is proud to recognize the accomplishments of these 32 firms,” Editor-in-Chief Howard Wolosky wrote. “What makes these firms so distinctive is that many of their innovations become best practices for other firms.”
The winning firms are profiled each year in the magazine’s September issue; each also receives a plaque honoring its achievements. For the full list of 2008 winners, pick up a copy of Practical Accountant or view the magazine’s announcement at www.marketwire.com.
