Methuen, MA— In preparation for National Employee Benefits Day on April 2, 2013, Borislow Insurance (BI) has set the standard for a proactive approach to healthcare and community education. Understanding that most consumers are unaware of healthcare costs, BI wrote to all six Governors in New England and secured all six of their signatures to support their Proclamation, “Consumer-Driven Health Improvement Week,” which runs from March 25-29, 2013. This is the second annual proclaimed week for which Borislow Insurance has received Executive support in this endeavor. In addition, other states have also supported Consumer Driven Health Improvement Week as authored by Borislow Insurance and include: CO;FL;IL;OR;TN;NM;NV;OK;DE;WI; and MT

BI’s Principals, Mark Gaunya and Founding Principal Jennifer Borislow, co-authors of the book, Bend the Healthcare Trend; are passionate supporters of Consumer Driven Health and Wellness Plans and share a half a century of combined insurance industry experience. The impetus behind the writing of both the language of the Proclamations, as well as the request itself, stem from the principles outlined in their book: transparency, responsibility and opportunity – which transform into a commitment to create a culture of health and wellness in the workplace. In addition, a Consumer Tool, the CDHPCoach has been developed by Strategic Vision in which both Mark and Jennifer hope to help Consumers become Engaged, Educated, and Empowered regarding their healthcare decisions.
