Neighborhood to use Web-based portal

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Nonprofit HMO Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island has selected Cambridge, Mass.-based NaviNet as its Web-based communications portal for providers.
NaviNet said in a news release that providers treating patients insured by Neighborhood can now instantly access patients’ claims, benefits and eligibility information via the portal. Use of NaviNet is offered at no cost to providers.
“Neighborhood Health Plan was founded on the principle of improving access and health in Rhode Island and we’ve dedicated resources to testing and utilizing innovative technologies to help us do so,” said Nancy Coburn, chief operating officer for Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. &#8226
