New Providence law firm opens

Pannone Lopes & Devereaux LLC – a law firm specializing in business law, litigation, labor and government relations – made its debut in Providence Wednesday. The firm is led by Gary Pannone, Matthew Lopes, William Devereaux and William O’Gara, recently of Holland & Knight.

The firm steps in as a national firm is withdrawing from the city. Through its relationship with Holland & Knight, which has more than 25 offices and 110 disciplines, PLD touts national experience in a medium-market firm.

Prior to their affiliation with Holland & Knight, partners Pannone and Devereaux worked together at McGovern Noel & Benik. Together, the founding partners of PLD have more than 80 years of combined practice in this region.

“We’re looking forward to stepping off the ocean liner to a 24-foot skiff, which will be much easier to navigate. Smaller means more flexible, more nimble, more personal,” said Pannone in a statement.
