Providence — August 20, 2013 — The PACE Organization of Rhode Island (PACE®) today announced the addition of Dr. Edward Westrick as the new Vice President of Medical Affairs.

Dr. Westrick brings to PACE over 20 years of experience as a health care practitioner, administrator, and consultant. His role as the Vice President of Medical Affairs includes direct patient care as well as administrative oversight of PACE’s medical program. In the past, he has worked as Vice President of Medical Management at UMass Memorial Health Care, Chief Medical Officer at Healthcentric Advisors, and Health Services Research Advisor at the Roger Williams Medical Center.

Dr. Westrick has held various consulting positions for organizations like the RI Medical Society, Newport Hospital, and the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, and has served on numerous boards and councils including the Massachusetts Medicaid Policy Institute’s Health Disparities Roundtable and the RI Medicaid Program’s Drug Utilization Review Board.

Dr. Westrick has also held clinical positions at a number of health care facilities, including Eleanor Slater Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center, and Hospice Care of Rhode Island. He completed his medical training at the New Jersey Medical School, and holds a master’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University as well as a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacoepidemiology & Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Rhode Island.
