MIDDLETOWN – The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport has awarded Paramount Solutions a five-year, $3.4 million contract for advanced engineering and technology services.
Under the new contract, Paramount Solutions will provide NUWC with engineering consulting services and expertise, including systems research, requirements definition, engineering, design and performance assessment for NUWC’s undersea systems technologies and new submarine combat systems, the company said.

Paramount Solutions is one of a number of defense-oriented technology companies that have opened offices in Rhode Island in recent years to be closer to the state’s naval base.
Paramount’s Middletown office, which opened in October, also supports the company’s contracts with the U.S. Air Force.
In a statement, Paramount Solution’s president, Jaquline Wilson, said she has “enthusiastically committed” to Aquidneck Island because of the support she has received from the R.I. Economic Development Corporation, the Newport County Chamber of Commerce, and the state’s congressional delegation.
