PORTSMOUTH – A 1,700-square-foot home on a 0.08-acre lot with water views over Mount Hope Bay and the Sakonnet River recently sold for $1.3 million, according to Residential Properties Ltd., which represented both sides of the transaction.

The 1282 Anthony Road home was constructed in 1940 but features an updated interior with Pella windows and sliders throughout, according to Residential Properties.

The home contains three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with an open first-floor plan with a chef’s kitchen featuring a Thermador gas stove, a Thermador refrigerator, a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, Neolith counters and custom cabinetry, the real estate firm said.

The first-floor kitchen opens up to a living room with sliding doors leading onto a large wooden deck, according to the firm. The first floor also features a bedroom and a full bathroom, the firm said.

The second floor features a cathedral ceiling, with a primary bedroom with its own walk-in closet and balcony. The second floor also includes a large guest bedroom, and a closet featuring a stacked, full-size washer and dryer combination unit, the real estate firm said.

A second-floor bathroom features a terrazzo-tile heated floor, a walk-in shower and Veil Kohler toilet with a bidet, according to Residential Properties.

A third-level tower features a panoramic view, with custom built-in Murphy bunk beds, which retract into a shiplap wall, the real estate firm said.

The home also comes with a full-house generator and a Lutron lighting system, along with an irrigation system for the backyard, according to Residential Properties.

The property was most recently valued by Portsmouth assessors in 2024 as being worth a total of $625,400, with $343,000 attributed to the land, according to the town’s online property tax evaluation database.

Residential Properties sales associates Cathy Singer and Ralph Curti represented the seller as co-listing agents. Curti was also involved on the buyer’s side of the transaction, according to the real estate firm.

The home was previously owned by Ira Singer and Cathy Singer, who purchased the property for $335,000 in 2001, according to the town’s online property tax evaluation database. A copy of the deed documenting the recent $1.3 million sale was not immediately available through Portsmouth’s online land records database.
