The Rhode Island Convention Center Authority, owner of the Rhode Island Convention Center, The Westin Providence Hotel and the adjacent parking garage in downtown Providence has increased security measures in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11.
The Convention Center Authority declined to detail the heightened security measures. They do note an enhanced focus on the overall security plan for the complex has been incorporated into standard operating procedures and that staff has been briefed in increasing vigilance.
